Privacy Policy.
How SurveyNeuro.com handles information when you visit our website, contact us or take part in online research.
Last updated: 2 November 2026Who we are
SurveyNeuro.com is responsible for the personal data it handles as a controller when you use this website or contact us directly. For a client research project, the client or SurveyNeuro.com may be the controller, depending on the project arrangements. The invitation or participant notice for that study will identify the controller.
For privacy questions or requests, email serkan@surveyneuro.com.
Scope
This policy describes our general website and research practices. A study-specific participant notice will provide the details that apply to a particular project, including its controller, methods, data categories, recipients and retention period. Participants should read that notice before joining a study.
Information we process
- When you contact us: the name, email address, organisation and other information you choose to include in your message.
- When you visit this website: technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, which may include an IP address, browser details and request time in hosting logs.
- When you take part in research: the information described in the relevant study notice. Depending on the study, this may include survey responses, task choices, reaction times, webcam-derived gaze coordinates and facial-expression measures.
We do not store raw webcam video or audio recordings for these research methods. Webcam input is analysed as it is received, and the resulting research measures are retained as anonymous numerical data. The exact measures used in a study will be explained to participants before they take part.
Purposes and legal bases
We use the information in enquiries to respond and discuss possible services, based on our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact us. We process necessary technical information to deliver and secure the website, based on our legitimate interest in operating a reliable service. Where the law requires us to keep or disclose information, we rely on the applicable legal obligation.
Research data is processed for the purposes and on the legal basis stated in the participant notice for that study. Where a webcam-based method or another activity requires consent, the study will ask for it before that processing begins. If a participant withdraws consent, we will stop the processing that depends on it; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. Once data has been irreversibly anonymised, it can no longer be linked to an individual for deletion or access requests.
Online research and AI
SurveyNeuro.com offers webcam-based eye tracking, facial coding, implicit reaction time and implicit priming tests, and AI-assisted surveys. These methods are used to understand responses to research materials. The specific methods and any AI-assisted analysis used in a project will be explained in its study materials.
This policy does not describe every possible client study. If a study uses additional data, service providers or processing, its participant notice will explain those details before participation.
Retention and security
Raw webcam video and audio are not retained. Anonymous numerical research measures are kept for the period agreed for the relevant project. The study notice will give the applicable retention period or the criteria used to determine it. Enquiry information is kept while needed to respond and, where relevant, for business records, disputes or legal requirements. Technical logs are kept only as needed to operate and secure the website.
We use access controls and other appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your rights
Where the GDPR applies, and subject to its conditions, you can ask for access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction or portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. You can also complain to the relevant data protection supervisory authority.
Send requests to serkan@surveyneuro.com. If a research client is the controller, we will direct your request to that client or assist them in responding, as appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices change. The current version and update date will be shown here. Where a change materially affects an ongoing study, participants will receive the information required by applicable law.
